Are you capturing value? Find what's leaving your system uncaptured.
1. Do you know all the physical outputs that leave your operation (waste, by-products, scrap)?
2. Have you mapped where each output stream goes?
3. Is everything you pay to dispose of genuinely worthless?
4. Have you explored whether anyone would buy what you throw away?
5. Is your equipment and space in productive use at least 70% of the time?
6. Have you monetized any by-product or waste stream in the past 2 years?
7. Do you know businesses nearby that might need your outputs as their inputs?
8. Do you recover any energy (heat, cooling) from your processes?
